Trend Story MS Dhoni's Signature Helicopter Shot Gets a "Special" Twist by Rashid Khan Rashid Khan, an Afghanistan spinner, is one of the best limited-overs spinners in the world, particularly in the Twenty20 format. Rashid, who is ranked second among T20I bowlers, is also a capable hitter who can knock the ball a long way. Rashid, who plays for the Adelaide Strikers in Australia's Big Bash League (BBL), has shown flashes of his batting brilliance during the T20 competition. On Wednesday, the BBL's official Twitter account shared a video of Rashid executing MS Dhoni's iconic 'helicopter shot' while playing a different sport — golf. Rashid isn't the first one to attempt to imitate Dhoni's stroke. During a BBL game in 2019, the Afghanistan leg-spinner tried his hand at the helicopter shot. Rashid took the helicopter shot off Melbourne Renegades bowler Kane Richardson for his Adelaide Strikers team.   Last year, Rashid shared a video of himself ...

Drugs in Sports After a positive cannabis test, Sha'Carri Richardson was forced to withdraw from the Olympic 100m. Sha'Carri Richardson, the American sprint phenom, will not compete in the women's 100m at the Olympics after accepting a one-month suspension after testing positive for marijuana at the US trials last month. The 21-year-old was considered one of the favourites for a gold medal after setting the sixth fastest time in history this year, but her disqualification means that her triumph at the US trials is no longer valid. Richardson's Olympic ambition, though, may yet be realised if she is selected to compete in the US 4x100m relay squad in Tokyo. The best four finishers in the 100m trials, as well as two discretionary picks, can make up a squad of six for the race, according t...

How the success of the USC basketball team                        benefits the football team. For the first time since 2008, USC entered the Associated Press Top 25 basketball poll this week, and it couldn't have come at a better time for the Trojans.   Never mind that Coach Andy Enfield is in the third year of his contract and has a lot riding on this season's results. Or that in the previous two seasons, the Trojans had only won five games in the Pacific-12 Conference.   The Trojans' 15-3 record is an antidote to the football team's recent struggles. After losing to Wisconsin in the Holiday Bowl just three weeks ago, USC had their second-worst football season since 2001.   Since then, Head Coach Clay Helton has put together a coaching staff that includes defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast, special teams coach John Baxter, and running backs coach Tommie Robin...

A brief history of cricket Cricket has a well-documented history dating back to the late 16th century. Originating in south-east England, it became the country's national sport in the 18th century and has since grown in popularity around the world in the 19th and 20th centuries. International matches have been played since 1844, while Test cricket began in 1877, according to historical records. After association football, cricket is the world's second most popular spectator sport (soccer). The International Cricket Council (ICC) is in charge of governance, with over a hundred countries and territories as members, however only twelve now play Test cricket. Cricket was most likely invented by youngsters living in the Weald, an area of dense woodlands and clearings in south-east England that spans Kent and Sussex, during the Saxon or Norman periods.
